A STRONG WIND BLOWING…

There’s a strong wind blowing
cold on my back
icicles are forming
on my appalachian shack
winter is blowing
oh that chill can kill
if life ain’t depressed ya man
living here will..
if life ain’t depressed ya man
living here will.
ain’t many farmers
farming these days…
they just can’t make
what the Goverment pays
to leave their land idle
keep them tractors still..
if life ain’t depressed ya man
living here will.
Newspapers talk about
sheltering the poor
pictures show hundereds of
blankets on the floor
says there’s too many people
and their still expecting more
gotta turn them away at the door..
till your there you don’t know
what they feel..
if life ain’t depressed ya man
living here will..
They spoke of Recession
back in two thousand seven….
and now their predicting
a major depression
i don’t know how much
worse it could be
(it already looks
mighty bad to me..)
some men work for
what other men steal
i can’t afford
a doctors bill
every where
it’s the same old deal
if life ain’t depressed ya man
living here will.
if life don’t depress ya man
living here will.

One Response to “A STRONG WIND BLOWING…”

  1. Great photos poetry, Connetta. I’m catching up, keeping warm inside. This poem sure expresses my sentiment about the weather. Burrrr-umba!
