Haiku set #4

1269610690_8c758c118d

This is a set of some of my earlier Haiku poems about nature and seasons..

1.

Call it what you want

Autumn or fall (no difference)

Just preference for some

2.

When shadows begin

To eat the light at sunset

Darkness will swallow

3.

September is when

Autumn gives us a hint that

She’s ready to fall

4.

Stars twinkle above

On this clear September night

Of moon bright and full

5.

Slowly the small snail

Made his way across the rocks

His path etched in slime

6.

The storm began slow

But the river rose quickly

Creating a flood

7.

The hot august sun

Overwhelmed tiny flowers

Awaiting the rain

8.

The Sun is hiding

Solar lights depend on him

To light the night lights

9.

It’s been awhile now

Since the tiny humming bird

Paused at my window

10.

Winter is fading

Into spring as robins build

A nest of fresh eggs

11.

Tonight the wind roars

Winter whispers to autumn

May I have this dance

12.

Light rays slowly fade

As the moon demands darkness

Give him time to shine

13.

After a snow storm

I love to be first to put

Footprints in the snow

14.

Autumn still lingers

As snow flakes fall on green grass

That soon will turn brown.

15.

Mother nature soon

Will awaken spring from sleep

And put her to work

16.

Small tiny seeds wait

Through winters ice snow and sleet

For warmth of spring Sun

17.

Brown leaves cling to trees

As if fall is holding on

In spite of winter

18.

Old trees stand naked

Leaves long ago danced their dance

On cool autumn winds

19.

Sun shined bright this day

Of long icicles forming

Like spears hanging down

20.

So green is the grass

When spring begins poking through

Melting ice and snow

21.

Shadows have a way

Of creeping into the light

Of late evening shade

22.

Snow makes not a sound

As it falls in huge clusters

All one of a kind

23.

Sunshine spent the day

Warming cold late winter earth

Where spring lay sleeping

24.

A grasshopper sat

In warm August Sun eating

Summer leftovers

25.

Old shovel hidden

Behind rake and leaf blower

Your snow has arrived

26.

Bright sun in the sky

Was you sent this winter day

To melt all the snow

27.

A butterfly drank

Dew drops on morning glories

That opened at dawn

28.

Breakfast came early

For robins looking for worms

With holes full of rain

29.

The winds whisper change

Summer holds hands with Autumn

Soon Jack will arrive

30.

Sweet Autumn  arrived

Dressed in all the shades of fall

Leaves dance on her winds

31.

A late winter wind

Howls and whips through naked trees

Dressing them in ice

32.

Today the sunset

Bid me a perfect picture

Of darkness falling

33

As snow gently falls

On frozen December earth

The silence speaks loud.

34.

The answer is yes

When trees fall and no one hears

It still makes a sound

35.

What good would spring be

Without winters spent longing

For her time to come

36.

Grey frogs enjoyed time

Of rain this warm spring morning

With promise of sun
