Poetry Senryu set #6

cj112

This is some of the poems I wrote about “human nature”..taking nature, seasons and frogs out of the haiku .

1

So long is the night

Spent anxious waiting for sleep

That never arrives.

2.

The purple toadstool

Seems to say without saying

“I could kill you dead.”

3.

A love that is lost

Is like a bucket with holes

That once held water

4.

As tiny roots form

On a stem from  grandmas rose

I feel joy within.

5.

Cat does his job well

Collecting the mice and moles

In house and garden.

6.

Sometimes I enjoy

A slow ride home the back way

Wind blowing my hair

7.

Beware of the dog

He might seem all friendly now

But he knows his job

8..

When he put black snakes

In the walls to eat fat rats

Her barn time was done.

9.

I await the day

I put snow shovel away

And bring out my spade

10.

She feeds her garden

Chemicals that kill the worms

That flowers prefer

11.

One day at a time

Step by step is best to get

From point A to B

12.

Old cat went hunting

found his leftovers in parts

Out by the back door

13.

Old cat can smell spring

Sitting in windows watching

For birds to fly home

14.

Gossip has a way

Of changing with each repeat

Becoming fake news

15.

Old cat is shedding

Taking off his winter coat

Preparing for spring

16.

He called his pet dude

A big yellow boa snake

That slithered around

17.
